Interesting perspective. Sounds like Central Europe really feels America pulling back, and it’s making them rethink their future. They want to be stronger on their own but still hope the US stays a reliable partner.

In my conversations, they believe the U.S. they’ve known since the end of World War II is gone. They want good relations, but they don’t see the U.S. as a reliable partner. If policies can shift dramatically every four years, then they can’t plan accordingly. So, they’re using this opportunity to reset, and craft a vision for a Europe of the future that is more on par with the U.S., China, and Russia. In the end, we may have created a much stronger rival than anticipated.
